The sky is light blue today. A few clouds in sight. The sun is coming through and shimmers on the water’s surface.
One ripple, two ripples, three.
Birds sing their songs and the trees are dancing. Their branches move back and forth, on the rhythm of the wind. Their green leafs wave at me. I wave back at them and smile. Summer’s breeze is blowing softly through my hair while I sit on this pile of rocks, drinking hot coffee out of a self-made mug. The sound of children’s laughter whispers in the background. I watch an elderly couple take out their dog for a walk. The air is filled with vague roving scents, as if the earth exhaled the sweetness of it all. Figs and honey. This is perfection for me. I like things a little messy. Like the coffee stains on my shirt and the wrinkles in my bedsheet. Sand between my toes and my hair a little wild. I like watching the world around me move, while I’m sitting still in the middle of it all. Observe and get moved by these details. The little things that seem so ordinairy and yet are so extra ordinairy. Find joy in the universal gifts of earth’s playground.
